Social Conditioning
Societal responses to different interests:
The Bible/Religion: You're a fanatic.
Academics: You're a nerd.
Games/Video Games/Movies/Comic Books: You're a geeky loser.
Art/Writing/Music: You'll never make money at It. What's the use?
Education: Study something you can make a lot of money by doing.
Money: Make as much as you can. It's what matters. See also "education."
Sports: Let's paint our faces, hold our footballs, and yell at the TV screens at those who oppose our teams and post on social media "Go... insert whatever your team is." That's a perfectly normal, acceptable, and desirable way to be a part of decent society. It promotes teamwork.
No. There is no societal conditioning whatsoever.
