When Views of Morality Interfere with Human Need

"Now it happened that He was passing through some grainfields on a Sabbath; and His disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating the grain.  But some of the Pharisees said, 'Why do you do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?'  And Jesus answering them said, 'Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him, how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?'" (Luke 6:1-4, NASB).

I am preparing a research paper for one of my first graduate-level classes.  The class is a basic intro. to human services class, and the paper is to be over a social problem related to a human services need.  I had several ideas for this paper.  The one I settled on is this: "When Views of Morality Interfere with Human Need."

I believe we see it all the time.  As the Passage above points out, Jesus encountered it as well.  Some type of discrimination is generally the outcome of our views of morality.  What would Jesus do in these circumstances?   I believe the Passage above gives us the answer.
