Pokemon Go

I just read an article about Pokemon Go helping people who are depressed and have social anxiety.  According to the article, the popular game encourages people who are suffering from these conditions to get out of the house, spend time interacting with others, and get on the move.

I honestly think it is wonderful.  As many have pointed out, it can be used as a tool to help people.  I do agree with this.

However, aside from the positives, I believe society's obsession with Pokemon Go is simply another example of how we are allowing technology to replace real life.

Have we become so disconnected from real life that it takes Pokemon to get us to experience it?  Do we have to chase a computer image to encourage us to explore our natural surroundings?  Have we become slaves to the machine?
