Romans 8 and Thoughts About How God Feels About Us

Today, for our housechurch, we studied Romans 8.  We discussed many things, including how God feels about us.

A few years ago, I wrote about what it means to be a child of God.  I likened it to something that Nathanael does that I find simply adorable.  When Nathanael laughs, he wrinkles his nose.  It is just the cutest thing.

Just imagine God looking at us like that.  Taliesin put it today that God thinks we're "awesome."  I think that's pretty accurate.  God thinks were the best thing since sliced bread.  He thinks we're all that and a bag a chips.  He adores us, just the way we adore our own children.

Isn't that an amazing thought?

I don't think we really think of that often enough.  We think God gives us guidance.  We think God disciplines us.  We think God shows us how we are to be and act.  But do we think about the fact that God is our Daddy?  He loves spending time with us.

I have always liked watching Taliesin and Nathanael sleep.  Do you think maybe God likes to watch us when we sleep?  When Taliesin and Nathanael were babies, I used to count how many kisses long their feet were. God knows how many hairs we have on our heads.  God is crazy about us; and all we usually think about are impersonal terms when it comes to His relationship with us.  Notice I didn't say our relationship with Him.  Our relationship starts with Him.  He wants a relationship with us.  Just like we do with our children.  And nothing, nothing on earth or beyond, can separate us from His love.

Just some amazing thoughts from our housechurch today.
